Madagascar is Fiona’s personal favourite as a destination. It is the world’s 4th largest island and 80% of the plant and animal species on the island are endemic. Lemurs occur naturally only on Madagascar .Nosy-be is an island located northwest of Madagascar – sun, turquoise blue sea and lush vegetation!It is a paradise setting and perfect location for numerous activities including scuba diving, island hopping, fishing and cultural activities.

Itinerary
You will stay at the Vanila Hotel and Spa, which is located 30 km from the airport and 17 km from the capital of Nosy Be. This beautiful, quaint hotel is perfectly situated on the beach with en-suite garden & ocean view rooms, air-conditioning, numerous pools and spa’s and offers some of the best facilities on the island. Your diving will take place from here around Nosy be.
The best diving is concentrated around the area of Nosy Be, on the NW side of the island. There are extensive reefs in close proximity to the shore and most of the dive sites are a short distance by boat. The sites between Nosy Be and Sakatia are ideal for beginner divers where the dive sites are protected. On the outer reefs there are some beautiful wall dives and often currents making for comfortable drift diving.The Tanikely Marine Park is a half an hour boat ride from Nosy Be and is one of the most popular dive sites in the area. Beautiful soft corals, starfish, schools of fish and turtles are often seen. Sea horses have also been found here…
There are flights twice a week from South Africa directly to Nosy Be making it an ideal diving destination. The best time to go is April- October
